Returns for the 2026 tax year are filed in 2027, so every preparer needs a PTIN valid for 2027. The IRS is processing 2027 PTIN applications and renewals now. It takes about 15 minutes online at IRS.gov and costs $18.75, and we'll walk you through it. No PTIN at all is fine too.

Before you submit
  • You work as an independent contractor and set your own hours.
  • 2027 enrollment fee: $99.
  • Before you can file: signed agreement, Academy training, and a 2027 PTIN. We expect at least 10 returns this season.
  • Full terms are in the preparer agreement you sign at onboarding.
